The aims of the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation are to educate and promote public awareness of the only free range herd of Wapiti outside of America and supporting a wide range of conservation projects from endangered species recovery programmes to control of introduced pests plus managing the impact of deer within the wapiti area.

2013 Season ballot dates:
- The Ballot applictions are now CLOSED.
- The Ballot was drawn at 10 am on Saturday the 27th of October 2012.

Note that for the successful Ballot parties, Back Country Food orders can be picked up on the night of the briefing.

Non-Wapiti type animals or unwanted Wapiti animals removed from the Wapiti Blocks: The below total is the amount of animals that the Foundation has removed from the Wapiti block since we began animal management in the Wapiti area of Fiordland in 2005. Periodically this tally will be up dated.
